Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts about 6-8 oz each, similar thickness
  • 1 cup Caesar dressing refrigerated brands recommended
  • 1/2 cup sour cream optional, for extra creaminess, can substitute Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground preferred
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Meat thermometer
  • Spoon or spatula

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Caesar dressing, sour cream (if using), freshly grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Arrange the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish in a single layer, leaving a little space between each piece. If chicken breasts are very thick (over 1 inch), consider pounding them to an even thickness.
  4. Spread the Caesar-Parmesan sauce mixture evenly over the top of each chicken breast, making sure they're completely coated all the way to the edges.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches exactly 165°F when measured with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part. The sauce should be bubbly and starting to turn golden brown.
  6. For an extra golden crust, turn oven to broil and place dish under broiler for 2-3 minutes. Watch very closely to prevent burning.
  7. Remove from oven and let chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley for garnish.

Notes

Keep it juicy: Use a meat thermometer and pull chicken at exactly 165°F. Marinate for deeper flavor: Coat chicken with sauce up to 30 minutes or up to 24 hours before baking. Parmesan tip: Always use freshly grated Parmesan for best melting and flavor. Sour cream swap: Greek yogurt works as healthier substitute. Broiling tip: Watch closely during 2-3 minute broil. Storage: Refrigerate in airtight container for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat covered in oven to keep chicken moist. Serve with: Fresh green salad, garlic bread, roasted vegetables, or creamy mashed potatoes.
